Quay West Condo

About
For our client – a therapist, Reiki healer, and yogi – it was time to focus inwards and help her create a sanctuary of her own. She dreamt of a cozy, calm space that both comforted and inspired her after a day of work at her practice. A polished and put-together condo, where she could cultivate creativity and explore within.

The condo had great bones, but its standard finishes didn’t capture her taste and the oversized furniture blocked the flow of the space, minimizing functionality. The cabinetry and flooring were to be kept, with a goal of incorporating them into the new design.

The condo’s aesthetic was rooted in the colour purple. Sensual and soothing, purple often represents wisdom and spirituality – it also happened to be the client’s favourite colour. We paired it with warm brass accents and cozy textures, from the linen on the accent chair and chenille on the sofa to the velvet and faux fur on the pillows, the jute and cowhide rugs, and the fabric artwork.

To create proper flow and allow for the movement of energy, we sourced furniture that was of the correct scale for the condo. We brought in a live-edge TV shelf made of Canadian oak to add an organic element, a wingback chair and antique brass accents for old-world warmth, and hanging lamps and a geometric rug for a modern touch.

Tying it all together are the custom pieces that add a whimsical, romantic flare, including the cloudy Nuvolette wallpaper by Cole & Sons and eye-catching Mandala artwork custom created by a Canadian West Coast artist.
